My wife and I had dinner here recently for the first time. The experience was very good. The menu is a little limited but the quality of food and service is exceptional.

“Great restaurant.”

Had a fantastic meal tonight. Great attention to detail by the staff without being fussy. And celeriac chips are my new favourite thing!

“Cannot wait to come back!!”

When vacationing in Ireland, I had several objectives, but one that was non-negotiable . . . a really delicious dinner . . .the kind that you cannot think while eating because it tastes so good, and then think about for the next several months! For me, in Ireland, 1826 was just that. I almost came back the next day and… More

“Words could not do justice to the food here!”

A meal here is an experience from the ambience of the setting to the service & then the exceptional food. Just wow – the attention to detail on the menu with the descriptions of the dishes to the presentation of the food on the plate & then the taste, flavours & quality of the food on offer. “Splendid ”

We really enjoyed the meal. Four of us on a busy Saturday night. Although the menu is limited the quality is superb. I had the pan fried chicken liver for starters followed by the fish salmon. “The opening of the year that should have been talked about a great deal more was 1826 Restaurant in Adare, Co Limerick, where Wade Murphy’s cooking demonstrates wonderful imagination and refinement, and where tradition and modern twists (a phrase I generally dread) work in perfect harmony.”

“Good food in pretty Adare. Husband and Wife team bring personal touch to a small, special place ”

Tom Doorley, Irish Daily Mail, The DiningRoom.ie

1826 Adare is a small, special place where the good stuff from its hinterland is being used by a talented kitchen.

Catherine Cleary, The Irish Times

1826 Adare is a chic little spot doing upmarket contemporary casual food. Well worth a visit.

Lucinda O’Sullivan, Sunday Independent

While you can take fine dining out of the equation, what you get from a classically trained chef of this calibre is the same top notch cooking in a more relaxed style – and at a very accessible price.

Georgina Campbell, Editor, Georgina Campbell’s Ireland Guide

1826 is one of the defining examples of the modern creative casual Irish restaurant. The cooking is serious and ambitious but the food is delivered without a jot of pretension and served in the most charming, relaxed style.

John McKenna, Editor, The McKenna Guide “Best 100 Restaurants in Ireland 2014″

The Murphys have opened with considerable aplomb, enhancing Adare. If this very good meal was indicative they will continue in that vein.
